Fajada Butte Glow
Chaco Culture National Historic Park, New Mexico
Fajada Butte glows, as the last light of the day brings color to the clouds above. Fajada Butte is a prominent landmark of Chaco Culture National Historic Park in New Mexico. Not only a wonderful rock feature, Fajada Butte is a known solar marking site created by the ancient Pueblo Indians. Atop the butte are perfectly placed slabs of rock that cast shadows on spiral petroglyphs. Photo © copyright by Jimmy Gekas.
